The Pelligra Fortek Project is a major urban renewal project that will transform the former Ford manufacturing sites in Geelong and Broadmeadows, Victoria- improving liveability of both of these locales.

The project will create a new mixed-use precinct with commercial, industrial, residential, and retail space, with investment across both stages expected to exceed $1bn.

As the design engine room of the CoMade Group, Eagles Engineers will optimise the preliminary design of the new 22kV HV distribution network and 2MVA 22kv/0.4kV kiosk substations, in order to achieve further savings during the construction stage. This task is made possible through the groups unique design to commissioning approach. Eagles Engineers delivered a design that was both construction ready and met the client’s vision, expectations and budget.

“The team have done an outstanding job under difficult conditions... you’re a professional and efficient team that just got the job done. We’ve really appreciated the engagement from the design team to take onboard all site conditions and could basically make the changes required on the spot right in-front of our eyes.” — Pelligra Senior PM

Demonstrating a clear understanding of the project, the team undertook a thorough review, identifying scope gaps between multiple disciplines, and then adapting the current design to ensure these gaps were closed.  Relationships were key, working closely with other contractors and consultants to get across the full scope to identify opportunities for improvement. Designing collaboratively with the construction team has allowed Eagles to provide a solution that not only provides Pelligra with peace of mind regarding project deliverability, but also a high likelihood that the project will finish not just on, but below budget.
